My drawing style is heavily focused on the ignored details of the person. Details in which depict them in an essence where they feel the most like themselves, in an element only understandable by the individual. What makes the compositions I draw so unique is that I draw all of these portraits from photos I take myself. It is crucial to me not only to take all the photos I draw, but to also capture the subject in the most natural pose, emphasizing the figures personality, thus reflecting their true personality.

 

Traditionally, the great multiplicity of the common person’s image is simplified by artists who use an ordinary person to depict a general mood. Throughout my drawing style, I try to create soft faces with really harsh details in their most prominent features. Although all of my compositions are in black in white (charcoal), you can still detect a mood in each of them that epitomizes each person’s personality.  Out of all the portraits I have drawn, I feel as though I can create realistic expressions that demonstrate impactful mark making of the people that inspire me.
